Should have knowledge of work specifications and work packages for production and on-site planning for ships undergoing maintenance availabilities and overhauls. Planner/Estimator/ESVA

About the Job

The Planner/Estimator will furnish complete technical accurate planning, material ordering and estimating products and services as related to shipyard availability for U.S. Navy vessels.  Selects, adapts, interprets and applies guidelines, precedents and engineering principles and practices as necessary to provide and prepare engineering instructions and procedures required to execute complex ship projects.

Education & Experience:  High School diploma and minimum ten years of relevant experience.

Skills/Job Details:

·        Expertise and thorough understanding of one or more Shipboard disciplines including hull/structural, mechanical/piping & electrical (HM&E)

·        Capability to perform full investigations to collect data; determine nature and condition of existing systems, equipment and components and determine what technical requirements are needed to restore these systems and components to the customer desired condition

·        Develops specific instructions based on technical manuals and published data establishing all operational parameters such as flow, speed, pressures, etc. required to demonstrate proper performance and reliability

·        Develops specifications and provide direction for the procurement of special material and services associated with the assigned projects, ensuring specifications provide complete description of the material and operating parameters

·        Responsible to elevate issues requiring professional level engineering evaluation to the proper level of authority to ensure adequate technical review

·        Reviews a variety of drawings, material specifications, test procedures, and other documents pertaining to assigned complex projects for technical adequacy and compliance with specifications and quality requirements

·        Prepares and performs review of technical working documents such as 4E-Specs and Controlled Work Packages (CWP), which break the work down to the shop man-hour level for all phases of the job

·        Provides job planning services to prepare work definition documents, which define all aspects of the authorized work; boundaries, scope, technical and quality assurance requirements, material cost and ordering specifications, definition of worker skills necessary, detailed cost estimates and man-hours required

·        Identify and order special and standard material, including proper analysis of procurement lead-time.

·        Must possess a degree of experienced judgment and mastery of concepts, principles, and practices of marine, electrical, structural and/or mechanical engineering disciplines

·        Must have a working knowledge, but not limited to various systems i.e. Naval Maintenance Data Base (NMD), AIM, AIMXP, MAT, Haystack, JEDMICS, Internet, MRQT, etc.

·        Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Logistics Manager

About the Job

The Logistics Manager is responsible for the supervision of two to five personnel, performing duties in support of one or more of the warehousing programs. Their personnel will perform the functions of receiving, stowage, issuing, packaging, delivery, shipping, hazmat handling and inventory control.  Analyzes workloads and determines production hours required for each evolution.  Coordinates and schedules transportation.

About the Job

 

Logistics  Technician is responsible for performing the following task; receiving and unpacking materials and supplies; reporting damages and discrepancies for accounting, reimbursement and record-keeping purposes; verifying materials received against receiving documents and reports discrepancies and all obvious damages to his/her supervisor; routing all materials received to prescribed storage locations; completes all shipping and receiving reports assigned; ensure the proper distribution of materials IAW the current CNO TAV business rules.

 

Education & Experience:  High School diploma and minimum five years relevant experience.

 

Skill/Job Details:

  • One year experience in DON or commercial services logistics, supply, and material distribution activity.
  •  A minimum of five years of experience using PHIMS (Program History Inventory Management System) is required.
  • Licensed qualified fork truck operator.
  • Licensed for a 5 ton truck with a HAZMAT endorsement on their license for the state of VA.
  • Operate a hand or power truck in the performance of warehouse duties; perform other related duties in support of the warehouse as they arise.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT/PROGRAM MANAGER

A multi-faceted Planning, Engineering, Logistics and Technical Services firm is currently expanding operations in the Washington D.C. area. Our growth requires an initial part-time Business Development/Program Manager and upon success will become full time.

 

Qualified candidates must have significant U.S. Navy ship repair and life cycle maintenance experience in support of government contracts. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT/PROGRAM MANAGER DESCRIPTION

·         Establish annual streamlined Business Development plan for Washington D.C. Market.

·         Develop project plans, integrate various organizational efforts, provide customer interface, monitor program funding, and conduct project performance reviews.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

·         Minimum twenty years experience in engineering management including project management, administrative and financial aspects.

·         Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering a plus.
