Job Description: Seeking a qualified individual experienced in project execution and work force supervision. The individual will report directly to a Project Supervisor or the Production Manager (depending on the project to which assigned), and will be responsible for the following: carrying out and maintaining project plans and schedules; tracking progress of work projects to both schedule and cost; maintaining schedules current; and preparing and providing project status updates to management personnel. The candidate must be able to: comply with all applicable safety regulations; enforce safety regulations within the assigned work force; work under industrial repair conditions; work in confined spaces; climb vertical and inclined ladders; operate basic hand-held manual and power tools; and lift objects that weigh up to 50 pounds.
Job Requirements and Experience: The candidate must have at least five years of ship repair experience as a Foreman and be able to supervise all assigned personnel, within any skill area, to accomplish basic ship or craft repair and modernization tasks. The individual must: be knowledgeable of NAVSEA Standard Item requirements; be able to read, interpret, and follow blue prints, drawings, installation instructions, and technical manuals for all shipboard trades/skills; be able to clearly mark-up drawings to show deviations and changes effected; and be able to draft completion/trip reports. Demonstrated skills in leadership, technical problem-solving, and communications are all vital to successfully carrying out the requirements of this position. Experience in the use of MS Project is highly desired but not required.
