Job Description: This position will serve as the QED Navy Air Department Specialist for a U.S. Navy contract. The QED Navy Air Department Specialist will analyze the impact of equipment casualty condition, alteration and maintenance on the execution of AWPs, provide technical guidance on CASREPs within CVN Class ALRE systems, collaborate with CVN Maintenance Officers, assist with audits in preparation for Flight Deck certifications, create and maintain complex schedules and budgets for maintenance projects, coordinate with other SMEs in the creation of guidance and requirements for Carrier Readiness.
Job Requirements/skill sets:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience and fluent use of Microsoft Products.
- Prior USN active duty air enlisted rating or air assigned Officer preferred.
- Prior DLCPO/WCS experience, onboard a CVN preferred.
- Prior experience with the planning and execution during CVN major availabilities.
- A minimum ten (10) years’ experience with briefing senior naval officers and civilians with regard to shipboard systems and equipment status while providing recommended course of action to repair.
- Fluent in Naval Aircraft Carrier references and standards per Naval Instruction requirements.
- A minimum of 5 years’ assisting the ALRE Maintenance Officer onboard aircraft carriers in planning and execution of work packages.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience as a force liaison with military and DoD personnel involving aircraft handling, crash and salvage, catapult, and arresting gear and fueling training requirements for shipboard team.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in assisting, monitoring, and assessing ships’ deck density and multiple computation, aircraft mishap data, and FOD prevention programs.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in serving as a representative during sea trials, flight deck certification, and major training evolutions involving flight operations.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in responsible roles for material condition of air systems equipment (catapults, arresting gear, ILARTS, JBD, NGL, SO/HUD work station, WMIS, MORIAH, IFLOLS, MOVLAS, LRLS and FDL systems) as may be installed aboard applicable ships.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in shipboard aviation support systems including Aircraft Carrier Launch and Recovery Equipment Management Program(ALREMP) and Aviation Fuel Systems.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in configuration status for ALRE installed aboard ships including current status of inspections/certifications.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience providing training assistance, oversight and certification recommendations to air departments onboard aircraft carriers in areas of aircraft handling, crash and salvage, catapult and arresting gear and aircraft refueling.
- Knowledgeable in latest advancements in ALRE systems technology.
- Proven ability to liaise effectively with various commands and authorities on maintenance matters.
- A minimum of ten (10) years technical, management, development, and integration experience with Naval Air Department requirements onboard aircraft carriers occurring within the last five (5) years.
Security Clearance/Naval Facility Access: U.S. citizenship required and a SECRET Clearance required. Must be able to access military facilities, naval shipyards, and private shipyards.
