Job Description: This position will serve as the QED Navy HM&E Specialist, Non-Nuclear for a U.S. Navy contract. The QED Navy HM&E Specialist, Non-Nuclear will collect, review and analyze engineering data from various sources to populate readiness driver trees, conduct trend analysis on material and equipment failures, analyze the impact of equipment casualty conditions, create guidance and requirements for Carrier readiness, coordinate with other subject matter experts, and provide updates on CVN Readiness.
Job Requirements/skill sets:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience and fluent use of Microsoft Products.
- Prior USN active duty engineering Enlisted Rating or engineering assigned Officer preferred.
- Prior Engineering Duty Officer, Chief of the Watch and/or Senior Auxiliaries Officer experience, onboard CVNs preferred.
- Prior Refueling Complex Overhaul (RCOH) experience.
- Prior experience with the planning/execution during CVN major availabilities.
- A minimum ten (10) years’ experience with briefing senior naval officers and civilians with regard to shipboard systems and equipment status while providing a recommended course of action to repair
- Fluent in Naval Aircraft Carrier references and standards per Naval Instruction requirements.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of various shipboard galley and laundry equipment.
- A minimum of 10 years’ of experience in the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of shipboard hangar bay divisional and deck edge doors.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of shipboard aircraft elevators.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of shipboard air conditioning plants.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience with technical coordination of the following installed or proposed HM&E ship systems including repairs, alterations, assessments, inspections and casualty reports: auxiliary machinery and support equipment (except ALRE, propulsion plant machinery and boilers),hull and piping systems and cargo/weapons elevator systems.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in design improvement, tests, evaluations and new developments in HM&E areas.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience with coordinating with military technical agencies and their various field agencies on identification and resolution of technical problems in the hull, mechanical and electrical areas of aircraft carriers.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in HM&E modernization packages for aircraft carriers.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience with planning, development, execution and analyzing a budget in support of naval engineering programs including new technology developments and life-cycle maintenance cost reducing initiatives, monitoring budget performance, and tracking cost avoidance results as applied to naval engineering maintenance enhancing programs.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience of technical, management, development, and integration experience with aircraft carrier HM&E requirements occurring within the last five (5) years.
Security Clearance/Naval Facility Access: U.S. citizenship required and a SECRET Clearance required. Must be able to access military facilities, naval shipyards, and private shipyards.
