Job Description: Qualified individual experienced in Outside Marine Mechanic applications. The individual will report directly to the Foreman or Project Supervisor that is responsible for executing the project. The candidate must be able to comply with all applicable safety regulations, work under industrial repair conditions, work in confined spaces, and climb vertical/inclined ladders. The individual must be able to perform routine mechanical functions on any marine-related equipment or system (including disconnection, disassembly, resurfacing, fitting, reassembly, installation, and testing), operate basic hand-held manual and power tools, operate basic Machine Shop tools (such as drill press, grinder, band saw, iron worker, bearing press, etc.), and set up equipment and lay out work for basic machining operations. All other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements / Skill Sets: The candidate must have either completed a three-year apprenticeship, or served for at least four years in the U.S. Navy or U.S. Coast Guard in a mechanical rating, or have at least five years working experience in the construction or repair of ships. The individual must also be able to read, interpret, and follow blue prints, drawings, and technical manuals.
