Job Description: An established engineering firm has an immediate opening in its Virginia Beach location for an Engineering Technician IV.
Responsibilities: Groom/maintain exterior and high use interior watertight closures including Mafo. Doors, QAWT, QAAT, IDWT doors, Hatches, and Scuttles. Inspect/conduct string test on watertight doors to identify warpage.
Inspect/replace damaged gaskets, bushings, dogs, clips, or associated hardware. Adjust dogs to achieve satisfactory chalk test results, IAW PMS Procedures/Cards, NSTMs and Maintenance Procedures provided by C960.
Contractor shall provide “on the job training” to ships force and FMR personnel and, when tasked, classroom as well.
*Minimum of five (5) years general experience with installation, operation, testing and
maintenance of naval or marine hull, mechanical and electrical equipment.
*Demonstrate a working knowledge of Navy assessment programs, visit processes
and reporting methods for visits.
*Demonstrate regularly using accepted current instrumentation for diagnosing
*Demonstrate ability for interpreting plans, diagrams and controlling publications.
*Demonstrate ability to work with and train Ships Force and FMR personnel.
*Must have recent and current (within 2 years) experience with WTC technical
assistance and assessment Support.
*Minimum of one (1) year specialized experience supporting WTC maintenance on navy ships.
Security Clearance: This position requires US citizenship and will be subject to a security investigation, must meet the eligibility requirements to obtain, and maintain a Secret Clearance issued by the US Government. In addition to the security clearance, this position may require an additional background screening for base access.
